Compare the ratios 14 23 5 : 12 and 61 : 92 in ascending order

Compare and order fractions, integers, mixed numbers and decimals in ascending or descending order. Order fractions from least to greatest or from greatest to least.

How to Order Fractions, Integers and Mixed Numbers

To compare and order fractions we must first convert all integers, mixed numbers (mixed fractions) and fractions into values that we can compare. We do this by first converting all terms into fractions, finding the least common denominator (LCD), then rewriting each term as an equivalent fraction with the LCD. Then we compare the numerators of each fraction and put them in correct order from least to greatest or greatest to least.

Steps to compare and order fractions, integers and mixed numbers

  1. Convert integers and mixed numbers to improper fractions
  2. Find the least common denominator LCD of all the fractions
  3. Rewrite fractions as equivalent fractions using the LCD
  4. Order the new fractions by the numerator
  5. Match original inputs to the ordered fractions to see the final order

Example using this calculator default inputs

Input: 2, 3/4, 9/12, 3 5/8, -12/16 and order from least to greatest

  1. Convert integers and mixed numbers to improper fractions    • 3/4, 9/12 and -12/16 are proper fractions so we can use those as they are written    • 2 in fraction form is 2/1    • Convert 3 5/8 to an improper fraction. Multiply the whole number 3 by the denominator 8 to get 24. Add 24 to the numerator 5 to get 29/8. So 3 5/8 = 29/8.

       • All inputs as fractions: 2/1, 3/4, 9/12, 29/8, -12/16

  2. Find the least common denominator: LCD of 1, 4, 8, 12, 16 is 48
  3. Rewrite the input fractions as equivalent fractions using the LCD    • 2, 3/4, 9/12, 3 5/8, -12/16 become:

       • 96/48, 36/48, 36/48, 174/48, -36/48

  4. Order these fractions from least to greatest numerator
       • -36/48 < 36/48 = 36/48 < 96/48 < 174/48
  5. Place the original fractions in the same order as their equivalents
       • -12/16 < 3/4 = 9/12 < 2 < 3 5/8

Compare the ratios 14 23 5 : 12 and 61 : 92 in ascending order

Q1) 1. Consider the following numbers :

68, 76, 63, 75, 93, 83, 70, 115, 82, 105, 90, 103, 92, 52, 99, 73, 75, 63, 77 and 71.

(i) Arrange these numbers in ascending order.

(ii) What is the range of these numbers?

Answer:

Solution:

(i) When the above data are written in ascending order. We get,

52, 63, 63, 68, 70, 71, 73, 75, 75, 76, 77, 82, 83, 90, 92, 93, 99, 103, 105, 115

(ii) Range of given numbers = Largest number – Smallest number

= 115 - 52 = 48

"Hello, everyone, hoping all of your doing. Well, so here we have this question with see is we need to consider the following numbers which are mentioned over here. And first question is we need to arrange these numbers in ascending order. All right, and then what we will need to find the range of this. So let us find the as well, let us arrange these numbers in the ascending order. So here I can see the smallest number over here is 52 right so followed by c 3 c 3 then. 5650 we have 68 1070 we have then we can see 71 then we can sit here is 73 right then 75 now 75 also we have to text so we will mention it two times. Okay. That is a 175 is here at the Terminus. Okay. So 75 then we have 76 then also, we have 77 then we have 82 83 1990-1999. Again, we have 103 and then greater than We have plenty to say it doesn't 105 we have 100. Okay, so you can see over here here we have arranged now. We need to find the range of the given number. Okay. So in order to find the range of these numbers, we will find the difference of the largest number and the smallest number so we have largest number to be very very hair we can see it is 100 50 - smallest number that is 52 hence the answer to this is 48. Okay. So answer to this is 48 and hoping this is very clear. And if at all there is any doubt you can mention that in the comment section below and thank you and have a wonderful day. "

How to Order the Numbers from Least to Greatest?

In Mathematics, the set of numbers are arranged in two ways. It means that the numbers can be arranged either in ascending order or descending order. If the numbers are arranged from the least to the greatest, then it is called ascending order. In this form, the numbers are in increasing order. The first number should be lesser than the second number.

If the numbers are arranged from the greatest to the least, then it is called descending order. In this form, the numbers are in decreasing form. The first number should be greater than the second number.

Standard Form

The standard form to represent the least to the greatest arrangement of numbers is given by:

a < b < c < d  < …..

Here,

a, b, c, d represent the numbers

Example: 2 < 5 < 7 < 8

If the given set of numbers are arranged from the smallest to the largest, then it is called an ascending order. In this arrangement, the numbers are in increasing order.

The arrangement of numbers from least to greatest is 2, 4, 6, 7, 9

Yes, the given numbers are in ascending order since the numbers are in increasing order. Here, the first number is less than the second number, second number is less than the third number and so on.
