Does green face mask stick work?

The highlights:

What is it?: A green stick which is solid but you basically draw on your face with it to create a face mask

Cost: $16.97 plus $5.99 shipping

Does it work? Sort of

Would I buy it again? Probably not

Other options?: lots of face masks are on the market, each claiming to do one thing or another Where to buy: I got it from an online store off the back of a facebook advert, but it looks as though they don't sell it anymore - if you do want to give it a go, google it and see if you can find it elsewhere.

So, the mask stick goes on smoothly enough, although the stick itself is so wide (about half an inch) that trying to get into small gaps such as between your nose and cheek, was quite difficult.

Once the green stick face mask is on, it goes a light green colour as it starts to dry.

Does green face mask stick work?

The adverts I had seen on facebook which enticed me to buy this product give the impression that lots of black dots appear on your face due to the mask having pulled the impurities out of your skin.

Here's the cotton wool pad after I had wiped the green stick face mask off...no black dots at all!

So, the green stick face mask does pull some stuff out of your skin. As you wipe it off, it did leave behind little white bits coming out of my pores, which I can only imagine were tiny whiteheads being dragged out. However, overall, it left my skin feeling very dry so I suspect it works by drying the skin out which results in the whiteheads coming out.

It certainly did not create masses of black dots, and nor did it make my skin go from having visible pores in places to being a completely flawless porcelain look, which is what the advert suggests. Again, annoyingly the advert is over exaggerating what this product can do. Although, at least this product does do something like what it is supposed to, even if it is not as dramatic as the advert suggests.

Further, when I used this a second time, it did very little. All in all, I would say this is a poor substitute for a solid cleanse, tone, moisturise routine.

Green tea cleansing mask stick - real or fake?

✨ I’m sure many of you have seen the viral green tea mask stick circulating on social media. These videos have been seen on TikTok, Facebook, and Instagram. If you’ve seen the crazy videos, you know what I’m talking about.

Since this product has been going super viral - literally everywhere - I thought it would be a good idea to test it out and give my honest opinions. This in-depth review should tell you…

✋What is the green tea clay stick mask?

✋Camera tricks?

✋Does the green tea stick mask work?

✋How to use the mask?

✋Is the green tea purifying clay stick mask worth it?

✋Where to buy the green tea clay stick mask?

💰 Before you go and spend your money on this product, be sure to read the entirety of this review. After watching the extreme before and after videos on TikTok, I decided to do some research on this green tea face mask. I tried this skin care product so you wouldn’t have to. 💁‍♀️
Spoiler: This green tea mask stick is not what it seems. 🤔

👉 What is the green tea clay stick mask?

This face mask comes in stick-form (like deodorant) and is supposed to be very easy to apply. The product makes a few dramatic claims, the largest being that your blackheads will vanish. It also is supposed to remove dead skin and dark spots after only one use. 😌

For those unfamiliar with the videos I’m referring to, the mask is applied over blackhead-prone areas, such as the nose, and is left to sit for a few minutes. Then, the camera cuts to the after, where tons of “blackheads” surface the skin and are wiped off with a rag. These videos show the product working miracles to nourish skin and remove blackheads. Some manufacturers have even claimed that the product “can remove pores.” 🤣

Yeah, pores are literally part of the skin and cannot be removed. Nice try, though. 🙄

💕 This mask contains green tea extract. In ancient Chinese medicine, green tea extract was used as an anti-inflammatory and antioxidant. It relieves redness and inflammation caused by acne and prevents damage caused by free radicals. 💝 Some research has shown that green tea might be a preventative measure for skin cancers. So if you suffer from acne, rosacea, or any other type of inflammation, this treatment might do something for you. ❤️‍🔥

👉 Camera tricks?

Before the model's skin becomes crystal clear, the tricky video makers put chia seeds on the person's face. This is supposed to make it seem like the blackheads are suddenly gone. 😒 In some cases, you can even see the handprint from where the chia seeds were slapped overtop the clay mask. Additionally, video editors throw on a skin blur filter. This gives the impression that the skin is now perfectly clear and bright. 😔

😕 In the hundreds of videos out there, most results are obviously fake. Sometimes, the video editing is realistic, and it can be hard to tell if the video is fake or not. 🤷‍♀️

On top of that, there are obvious photo editing tricks in advertisement photos, too. Look at any of the products on this page, and you’ll know. The before pictures show skin full of blackheads, and the afters almost looks like paper. Everybody has pores; these results are just not possible. 🤦‍♀️

👉 Does the green tea stick mask work?

The facial mask claims that there are no adverse side effects. The deep cleansing is supposed to work for people with any skin type. The green tea mask stick does not work… at least not as much as in the ads. Green tea extract and other natural ingredients make these products nice on their own. But, they are just not what they claim to be in misleading ads. 🙅‍♀️

⚡️ If you’re looking for a product that provides instant results, this is not that product. You will not suddenly have the gorgeous skin you’ve always dreamed of in 15 minutes. Nor will you with any other product. Skincare takes time to work, so be patient with your products and give them time to work. ⚡️

Be sure to have a realistic idea of your results before using this product, so you don’t get disappointed. Again, you won’t clear ALL of your acne or ALL of your blackheads in just one use. However, you might see gradual improvements with regular use. 🙋‍♀️

👉 How to Use the Mask?

🧼 Before use, I used a gentle cleanser and rinsed it off with hot water to prep my pores for this mask. Then, I used the green mask stick, which was surprisingly easy to apply, all over my face. I wanted to see if there would be a difference between the areas where I get blackheads (nose) and the ones I don’t (cheeks). 🧽

✨ I left it on for 15 minutes (the instructions say 10-15) and washed it off with lukewarm water. I immediately noticed a difference in my skin’s natural oil because there was almost none. My skin was glowy but not greasy and almost seemed brighter. 🛁

👉 Is the Green Tea Mask Stick Worth It?

Besides the false advertisement, I actually like this clay face mask. 🥰 Not enough that I would buy it again, but enough that I’ll use it up. I have tried better products, such as the Aztec Indian Healing Clay, but this face stick didn’t repulse me.

🤔 I don’t think it’s worth the money. There are better masks you can get at the same price point. This mask stick is inexpensive, but I prefer other products more.

👉 Where to buy the green tea clay stick mask?

The brand I received was”PAQIMAN.” You can find this product on Amazon in its many variations and brands. From what I can tell, all of the formulations are the same.

🐰 Unfortunately, I couldn’t find any information about it being cruelty-free or vegan. This product is manufactured in China (where animal testing is required by law for beauty products). I strongly disbelieve that it was not tested on animals. I also couldn’t find the ingredient list anywhere online, which is a little sketchy. 🙊
