What is the most expensive hat in tf2

Not counting what they're worth in real cash, because I know some unusuals sell for hundreds of dollars.

I imagine the most valuable object in TF2 is some hat/effect combination of unusual. Aside from unusuals, maybe the Gentlemanne's service medal? I imagine the special one-of-a-kind ribbon versions of the Modest Pile of Hat, Noble Amassment of Hats, and Towering Pillar of Hats aren't tradable...

Everything is tradable if you gift-wrap it. Except maybe the japan donation hats.

Not counting one-of-a-kind hats, Max's Head comes to mind.

Definitely the golden wrenches. Not sure how many there are, but it like less than 80

Medals actually don't trade for as much as you might think. There are 11 111 of them, after all.The Golden Wrench trades for the most.Community made weapons go for very large sums.Next are certain Unusuals. The most expensive Unusual at the moment seems to be the Modest Pile of Hat with Sunbeams effect.

After this, the most expensive hats are the HOUWAR and Max's Severed Head.

Golden wrenches and Community weapons are irrelevant, since they cannot be traded or gift wrapped. So yeah...

So I'd say Max's Head or HOUWAR.

Hope is wasted on the hopeless.

Only one that was ever traded went for the in-game items equivalent of >$2000.

HOUWAR, sells for about 300. Flaming Kabuto sells for 2000+, community weapons sell from 1000+ (if you can find someone to sell it). The single most expensive thing that's tradeable/clean is Max's. In terms of unusuals, comp classes fetch more than other hats, all class hats do well except they look ugly as sin.
