Holy Cross tour guides run the gamut of academic interests and areas of involvement here at the College. They also share at least one thing in common: their love of Holy Cross. Our guides can't wait to walk The Hill alongside you, share their stories, and answer your questions about being a Crusader.

Please feel free to read through these student profiles and reach out to any student volunteer who you would like to connect with. We also encourage you to look into all of the on-campus and virtual opportunities that the Office of Admission offers which will allow you to hear from and connect with current Holy Cross students.

Why did you become a tour guide?
I became a tour guide because I wanted to be more immersed in the Holy Cross community. I wanted to have a platform to share my love for the college as well as helping prospective families into the process of choosing a college by making a little impact with my tour.

What is one highlight of your Holy Cross experience thus far? The Odyssey program before entering to the college. Why did you chose to attend Holy Cross?

Because of the sense of community.

Why did you become a tour guide?
I became a tour guide because I remember how special of a time touring colleges was in high school, and I wanted to be a part of that magic for others! I love Holy Cross so much and I want others to see how special of a place it is as well... so what better way then introducing myself to prospective students and families and showing them around my home on the hill!

What is one highlight of your Holy Cross experience thus far?
My favorite Holy Cross memory so far has to be the fall concert featuring the Kid Laroi. He put on a great show for us, and the Holy Cross student body was so alive with joy and enthusiasm!

Why did you chose to attend Holy Cross?
I chose to attend Holy Cross because of the people. I came from a small high school, and knew that I wanted a college on the smaller side, where I could build important relationships with my professors. The community here is unlike any other in terms of care and support, and it truly feels like everyone here wants you to succeed. Plus the campus is so beautiful and the city of Worcester is a diverse and vibrant community full of life that is perfect for college students!

Why did you become a tour guide?
In all honesty, I decided to become a tour guide because I wanted take part in some community based organization to help out. As I believe getting involved in any sort of community based organizations to help out is core to whole experience of the college.

What is one highlight of your Holy Cross experience thus far?
The first night it snowed on campus, and everyone went sledding down the steep hill in front of Kimball. It was just a blast and a great way to meet people and have fun.

Why did you chose to attend Holy Cross?
I chose Holy Cross for the community, as I noticed very early on that everyone was very welcoming and just friendly. That really showed to me the deeply embedded spirit of community that exists within Holy Cross.

Why did you choose to attend Holy Cross?
During February break of my sophomore year, I visited Holy Cross for the first time. I went with my ma and my partner organization, La Vida Scholars. My tour guide Matt Wyman was very engaging and made Holy Cross memorable for me. What I loved most about my tour were the students on campus - they all seemed genuinely happy to be there and talk to us whenever we walked by, I sensed a great community between them. While walking around campus, the atmosphere of the school was amazing- I felt at home and I pictured starting my future here. Ever since that first tour Holy Cross has always been my first choice for college. In total, I’ve visited the school three times and every time my mind hasn’t changed.

Why did you want to become a tour guide? I would like to be a person that makes Holy Cross memorable for other students. Also, showing that I come from a rough background and am a woman of color, I believe that I can show others that anyone can strive for success and accomplish great things. People like us attend rigorous institutions and change the world.

Why did you choose to attend Holy Cross?
I chose Holy Cross because it is a school focused on building community. The college emphasizes forming strong bonds among students, students and faculty members, and students and the surrounding Worcester community. I wanted to attend a college that promoted collaboration over competition, and ensured that each student was given every opportunity to succeed. I found all of this and so much more during my time at Holy Cross.

Why did you want to become a tour guide?
Holy Cross has allowed me to grow both academically and personally. I am sure that I would not be the person I am today without the connections and opportunities I have had during my time at HC. I want to be able to share my experiences with students considering attending Holy Cross, and I want to help others realize that Holy Cross is the right school for them.

What is one highlight of your Holy Cross experience thus far?
One of my favorite Holy Cross experiences thus far was my Spring Break Immersion Trip during my first year. I remember being incredibly nervous and scared as I waited in the airport with eleven other HC students. During my time volunteering at La Puente in Colorado, I formed strong connections with the other members of my group from Holy Cross and with members of the La Puente family. I will never forget learning about the struggles of a rural community in Colorado and how they differed from members of the Worcester Community. SPIB was an eye-opening experience for me, and it inspired me to find new ways to participate in community service.

Why did you become a tour guide? I remember when I was a high school senior visiting my future colleges, I was very nervous about my college life, especially my four years abroad as an international student. I remember one of my campus guides is an international student, and she described her college as a diverse and welcome space for both domestic and international students. She talked about her experience navigating college from a different background and country. Her words touched me and thus I was looking forward to my four years abroad in America. Now being a rising senior in Holy Cross, I am confident to contribute my effort and voice to prospective students. As an international student, I want to represent Holy Cross as a diverse campus with a different perspective. I believe being a campus tour guide would offer an opportunity to become a passionate voice

and welcome others with my warm heart.

What is one highlight of your Holy Cross experience thus far?
I have participated in the SPUD program as a teacher in the St. Bernard’s Church. Every week I would go to the Marie Anne Center at the church to teach 10-20 learners who learn English as a second language. Preparing for my class based on the textbook modules, designing homework for my students, and answering questions during class were my basic tasks. I really like the SPUD program and I would love to contribute my effort to build a better Holy Cross and Worcester community.

Why did you chose to attend Holy Cross? I love the academic atmosphere at Holy Cross, especially its liberal arts college style. I like the small class setting, close connection with professors, and a small but tight student community because they provide a close and intimate

studying experience with students and professors.

Why did you become a tour guide?
As a prospective high-school student, I visited a lot of colleges and those experiences revealed to me what an essential role a tour guide plays in shaping a prospective student’s view of the school. Especially as someone who was looking to go to college far from home, I was unfamiliar with many of the schools that I was looking at and often found myself relying heavily on my tour guide’s knowledge and experiences to see if the school could be a good fit for me. Holy Cross has quickly become a home to me and by being a tour guide, I get to pay my amazing experiences forward by being a resource for prospective students and families, so that they can also find their sense of belonging in the HC community!

What is one highlight of your Holy Cross experience thus far?
One highlight from my HC experience thus far has been playing drums for the Interdenominational Protestant service on campus. I came to Holy Cross wanting to embody Christian values, but not really expecting to find a direct connection with faith. The ID service has not only afforded me the opportunity to play drums every Sunday, something I’ve always loved doing, but also to strengthen my faith and find a diverse, supportive community of individuals who have become some of my closest friends here at Holy Cross.

Why did you chose to attend Holy Cross?
I chose Holy Cross for its combination of liberal arts education and Jesuit tradition. I value being well-rounded, so being able to pursue a variety of passions in and outside of the classroom is a huge benefit of attending Holy Cross! Additionally, Holy Cross’ commitment to the Jesuit principle of being “Men and Women for and with Others” fosters a unique sense of community and commitment to service that really resonated with who I am and who I strive to become.

Why did you become a tour guide?
Whenever I pass a tour on my way to or from class, I resist the urge to stop and tell the perspective students and their parents how much I love it here and that they should commit today. Every day, I am certain I made the perfect choice during my college search, and I want to help future Holy Cross students discover the same.

What is one highlight of your Holy Cross experience thus far?
The Christmas season at Holy Cross is a very special time and has been one of my favorite experiences so far. Seeing the chapel packed for our “Festival of Lessons and Carols” was a beautiful example of the sense of community and togetherness that Holy Cross embodies.

Why did you chose to attend Holy Cross?
Holy Cross is dedicated to nurturing both the mind and heart, through an authentic liberal arts education, and gives students the ability to help their community wherever that may be. The friendly, engaging environment, the drive to do good in the world, and the encouragement to crucially engage with new perspectives is what drew me to Holy Cross. In the end, Holy Cross’ emphasis on a close, kind, and welcoming community is what sold me!

Why did you choose to attend Holy Cross?
I chose Holy Cross not only for its strength in the liberal arts, but also the presence of a dedicated, hard-working, and kind community. With such a strong core of academic disciplines, I knew I would be able to further my own academic interests and be exposed to a plethora of new opportunities, all while in a community of students and faculty supporting you and each other. I knew at Holy Cross I would be able to become the best student I can be both academically and as a community member.

Why did you want to become a tour guide?
I take such pride in being a student at Holy Cross and wanted to show the campus to those who are visiting. Touring colleges is a key step in the college process and I wanted to give students insight into all things Holy Cross.

What is one highlight of your Holy Cross experience thus far?
My favorite experience at Holy Cross so far has been my first day of classes. I was so excited to finally be at the college and could not wait to start learning. I will cherish this day as it signifies the beginning of my time at Holy Cross.

Why did you choose to attend Holy Cross?
When I visited campus for the first time after my sophomore year of high school, I absolutely loved the campus. A small tight-knit campus community was important to me in choosing a college, and this defines Holy Cross. I loved the idea that anywhere I went, I would be able to see so many familiar faces. Everyone you meet, whether it is in a class or a club, is so welcoming and kind. Also, because I graduated from a Jesuit high school, the idea of attending a Jesuit college like Holy Cross was appealing to me. The value that Holy Cross places both on the importance of academics, as well as spirituality are two components that have been incredibly meaningful to me throughout my entire life.

Why did you want to become a tour guide?
In taking a tour at Holy Cross, as well as attending Accepted Students Day, I was able to witness the enthusiasm and love that each and every student volunteer had for the school. I wanted to have the opportunity to be able to show prospective students and their families that same love for the school that I now possess ever since I became a Crusader.

What is one highlight of your Holy Cross experience thus far?
Participating in Choir Week a week before school began has been one of my favorite Holy Cross experiences thus far. While learning the music for both the Mass of the Holy Spirit and Fall Convocation, the choir did other fun activities including a scavenger hunt in the city of Worcester and a movie night in Hogan Campus Center. It was a great way to meet new people, and so many of the individuals who participated in Choir Week are now my closest friends.

Why did you become a tour guide?
Volunteering as a tour guide really interested me because I feel passionate about sharing my love for Holy Cross with students and families. The college tour experience can be intimidating at times, and I want to help make it an enjoyable and welcoming experience here at Holy Cross. I feel so energized to help prospective students envision themselves going to school on the Hill.

What is one highlight of your Holy Cross experience thus far?
My favorite Holy Cross memory so far was the Fall 2021 move in day. It was exciting to be reunited with everyone after the summer and campus felt so lively. I thought it was a great start to the semester.

Why did you chose to attend Holy Cross?
I chose Holy Cross because of the liberal arts academics, Jesuit tradition, and most of all because of the strong community here on campus and after graduation. All of the students, faculty, and alumni who I met genuinely care about each other and I wanted to be part of such a supportive group of people.

Why did you choose to attend Holy Cross?
I chose to attend Holy Cross because of the bridge between personal and academic growth that the school encourages in each of its students. Small classes, accessible professors, and engaged peers make Holy Cross perfect for anyone who truly wants to make connections in college. I first knew of Holy Cross as I have many family members who are proud alumni. Each and every one of them adored the school and went on to do amazing things after graduating. I hope to have similar success and happiness as them.

Why did you want to become a tour guide?
I wanted to become a tour guide at Holy Cross because I believe that a good (or bad) tour can make a huge difference for prospective students. I still remember my tour of Holy Cross in 2019. That day, I left the tour knowing that Holy Cross was my dream college. I would love to give another future student that same experience!

Why did you become a tour guide?
I can still remember my tour guides from when I was applying to college and touring schools, and how they played such a big factor in how I felt about the school. I wanted the opportunity to give back to my school that I love so much by showing prospective students how amazing Holy Cross is and to assist in their college search process

What is one highlight of your Holy Cross experience thus far?
Without a doubt, doing theatre at Holy Cross has been the highlight of my experience so far. I have made so many memories and friends that will last a lifetime. From the first day, everyone was so welcoming, and I knew I had found my home on campus.

Why did you chose to attend Holy Cross?
The first thing I noticed on my tour of Holy Cross was the way that my tour guide was waving and smiling at so many people we walked past. I loved that the small size made Holy Cross really feel like a family. Holy Cross is the kind of place where you can walk into the dining hall alone, and know that you’ll see people you know there to sit with. The small classes allow you to actually get to know your professors and classmates. Overall, Holy Cross just felt like home and I couldn’t imagine myself anywhere else.

Why did you choose to attend Holy Cross?
Holy Cross instantly stood out to me the first time I stepped on campus as I got an overwhelmingly warm feeling from the community. I could tell the students enjoyed being here and had formed lifelong connections. The large Classics department especially peaked my interest because of my passion for the Classics. After talking to many professors, I saw how invested they were in the students' success.

Why did you want to become a tour guide?
I greatly enjoy interacting with new people and have been working with admissions throughout my high school and now college career. Tour Guiding was a great way to blend the two together because I want to meet prospective students and share with them my experience at Holy Cross.

What is one highlight of your Holy Cross experience thus far?
In my first semester, I took "Hinduism" and "The Ethics of Silence". Both of these courses had many similarities in what we were learning which greatly shocked me. However, I found these cross-class connections to be very rewarding to notice.

What is one highlight of your Holy Cross experience thus far?
At the beginning of my sophomore year, I was able to be an orientation leader for incoming first-year students. Although I was on campus for part of my first year, I remember the first day of orientation training feeling so different than any of my freshman year experiences because it was the first time that a real, in-person event could finally happen again. This day was filled with excitement, activity, and interacting with others, which I had missed so much after a remote year. Gateways Orientation truly showed me what community could feel like at Holy Cross, and I will always be so grateful for this!

Why did you chose to attend Holy Cross?
Holy Cross was my first ever college tour, and I remember from the moment I left campus that day that no other school would compare to it. Why did you become a tour guide?

A tour guide is the first impression you have of a school. I want to be the face people remember when they think of Holy Cross, a passionate young woman. I believe by being a tour guide I can share my passion and love for Holy Cross with prospective families. Also, when deciding upon what college to go to, it is often a very stressful time. However, I believe it should be a joyous time and families should enjoy going on tours. I want to share my passion with Holy Cross with others!

What is one highlight of your Holy Cross experience thus far?
One of my favorite highlights of my Holy Cross experience was the football game at Polar Park, a new baseball stadium for the minor-league Worcester WooSox's. The reason I loved this game is because it was a sold our crowd of 10,000 people, but you could really see the Holy Cross community within this park and how loving everyone was. We were a family that supports each other. This game definitely highlighted our community!

Why did you chose to attend Holy Cross? I chose to attend Holy Cross because it is a small, liberal arts college that was close to my home. I never visited Holy Cross due to the pandemic but did many webinars. The webinar that moved me was the First Year Experience. This

webinar highlighted how every person matters at Holy Cross and what could expect of your first year. I loved how they had the Montserrat, where all firstyears have a year-long course together but also live within the same dormitory.  I felt this was a good way to make friends and it is! Montserrat is a way to get to know the Holy Cross community and meet other first-year classmates.

Why did you choose to attend Holy Cross?
I choose to attend Holy Cross because the minute I stepped on campus I felt at home. Growing up abroad, people always asked me where I considered my home. The answer I always fell back on was it, "it is where my family is". This changed when I stepped on The Hill for the first time. I had this overwhelming feeling of warmth, kindness, and inclusivity, and immediately knew this was the place for me.

Why did you want to become a tour guide?
I choose to become a tour guide because I want to be able to help students and prospective students feel welcomed on campus. In today's society there is a great deal of focus on a student admission to college, while talk about acclimating oneself to a college is overlooked. I want to be able to make this transition easier and more approachable for student who are new to Holy Cross.

What is one highlight of your Holy Cross experience thus far?
One of my favorite experiences thus far at Holy Cross was my Montserrat class. Transitioning to college course can be challenging, but having one professor for the entirety of the year who is willing to help comes in handy. Further, I was able to make some really good friends in my Montserrat class. Studying with these students and living in the same dorm prompts the development of these friendships.

Why did you choose to attend Holy Cross?
I was drawn to Holy Cross because of the strong sense of community. Each time I visited campus, I was amazed at how welcoming the students were and how willing they were to answer my questions. When I returned to campus for Admitted Students Day, each Holy Cross student I interacted with was so willing to make me feel welcomed and like a part of the community.

Why did you want to become a tour guide?
Tour guides are someone’s first experience at a school, and I would love to be part of someone’s first Holy Cross experience. The Holy Cross community has given me so much in such a short amount of time, and being a tour guide is my way of paying it forward.

Why did you choose to attend Holy Cross?
When choosing a school, I had three requirements. First, I wanted four seasons. Being that I am from Florida, I wanted to experience weather other than hot and humid. Holy Cross definitely fulfilled this requirement. Second, I wanted a liberal arts school. As a small liberal arts institution, Holy Cross allowed me to separate my interests from my passions. For example, I now know that I do not want to be a Biology major, but I still find it extremely interesting. And third, I loved the sense of community at Holy Cross. Before I attended Admitted Students Day, I was undecided about where I was going. But after I witnessed the enthusiasm of the students, I made my decision to go to Holy Cross. Plus it didn't hurt that my dad is an alumnus.

Why did you want to become a tour guide?
I decided to become a Tour Guide after spending a semester in the Admissions Outreach Program. In this role, I found that I was proud to be a student at Holy Cross and wanted to share my experiences with future Crusaders.

What is one highlight of your Holy Cross experience thus far? So far, my favorite experience at Holy Cross has definitely been late night runs to the Lobby Shop and Cool Beans with my friends. These runs serve two purposes. First, they are a much-needed break from studying in the Mulledy Common Room. And second, it gives me an opportunity to satisfy cravings. However, my dining dollars do not appreciate these runs.

Why did you choose to attend Holy Cross?
The first time I saw Holy Cross on Admitted Students Day, I instantly felt a connection. The screaming and overly excited students welcoming me made me realize the pride students have for this school and the desire to share that with other students. Coming from across the country and knowing no one, I was so afraid I wouldn't find my people or fit in, but after just one day on The Hill I knew I would find my home and spot here at Holy Cross.

Why did you want to become a tour guide?
When I look back to my college selection experience two years ago, one of the most valuable memories I had was the tours I attended and the tour guides who led them. It was very helpful to have a student there to explain their own experiences at the school instead of just having another brochure or pamphlet to look at or having an admissions staff just talking at me. I wanted to provide that same experience for other prospective students.

What is one highlight of your Holy Cross experience thus far?
One of my favorite Holy Cross experiences was during my first year on campus spending time in the Brooks common room. I met some of my best friends just studying, watching movies, baking cookies, or singing along to J.Lo's halftime performance.

Why did you become a tour guide?
My love for the College of the Holy Cross is so strong it is tangible. As soon as I stepped foot on the campus, it was love at first sight; I could tell there was just something so special about this community. After careful reflection, I am able to pinpoint the reason: the incredible people. Holy Cross students are truly one of a kind, in the best way possible. Every individual here has a passion, whether it be for their sport, craft, or academics. The dedication and drive of the students fosters a learning environment where it is safe to take risks and push yourself to try new things. Being on this campus encourages creativity, determination, and stepping out of one's comfort zone. Becoming a tour guide allowed me to share my love and passion for this school with prospective students and families.

What is one highlight of your Holy Cross experience thus far?
This summer I worked as an orientation leader for the college, in a virtual setting. This was a unique experience which allowed me to connect with the incoming freshman class before they arrived on campus. Sharing my experiences and giving advice helped ease the anxiety for the transition these students were about to face. In addition to meeting these incoming students, I was able to make connections with many fellow students. The team of orientation leaders was made up of all different class years but we all had the same energy and enthusiasm about Holy Cross. The friendships I made in this program allowed me to realize how truly incredible the community is at Holy Cross.

Why did you chose to attend Holy Cross?
After touring a multitude of schools, I kept thinking back to one of the first schools I looked at- Holy Cross. Aside from the beautiful campus, and the strong academic programs, there was something special I noticed when I first toured the school. I was fortunate enough to visit on homecoming weekend when the fields were full of alumni and current students tailgating. Everyone I interacted with was welcoming and truly interested in what I had to say. The sense of belonging I felt after talking to these individuals was exactly what I was looking for in a college. The final decision came down to pinpointing the place at which I could see myself being comfortable, but also somewhere in which I had the ability to grow. Holy Cross is the perfect combination of a small school environment with vast opportunities for students to expand their knowledge and their experiences.

Why did you become a tour guide?
Holy Cross has given me an excellent experience so far--academically, socially, and spiritually. Being able to really connect with current students when I was a prospective college student helped me so much. I want to offer an enthusiastic view of Holy Cross, but also be able to honestly and openly answer any and all questions in a down-to-earth manner.

What is one highlight of your Holy Cross experience thus far?
This year, I participated in the Spring Break Immersion Program (SBIP), and it was life-changing. I met numerous people--both in and outside of Holy Cross-- and it has transformed the way I experience Holy Cross and the world around me. Not only did I learn a great deal from the trip itself, but the spirit of the trip has continued to manifest itself back on campus in the connections I've made with peers across class years.

Why did you chose to attend Holy Cross?
I chose Holy Cross because of its identity as a Jesuit, liberal arts community.  The size of the student population and location of the school also played into my decision, but the biggest determining factor was the sense of community I experienced both times I visited campus. The kindness and authenticity of Holy Cross' students, faculty, and staff ultimately helped me make my decision, and I'm so grateful for the many people who answered all my questions and continue to make my experience here so wonderful!

One of the biggest highlights of my Holy Cross experience so far has been the a-capella group Fools on the Hill. It is so much fun rehearsing and performing with the friends I have made.

Why did you chose to attend Holy Cross?
My dad is an alumni of Holy Cross, and had said great things about his time at the College. I chose to attend Holy Cross because I had to see if what he said was true!

Why did you become a tour guide?
I am a firm believer that a campus tour is what can make or break a students decision to apply to a school. Much of Holy Cross’ appeal is the beauty of the campus itself and the energy of the community that can only be experienced in person. As I am very proud to be a member of the Holy Cross community, it is my privilege to be able to share my love for our school with prospective students in hopes that their tour will result in the same strong desire to apply to Holy Cross that I once felt.

What is one highlight of your Holy Cross experience thus far?
On the first day of the Fall 2021 semester, campus was abuzz with excitement and energy; it felt as though my peers and I were finally able to have a normal semester after a “covid” freshman year. Move in day was filled with anticipation for the semester to come. Although I was a sophomore, this was my first official move in. Waiting in a long line of cars for my turn, I watched as energetic movers and greeters welcomed us to Wheeler hall. The entire day, I was smiling as we experienced the welcome celebrations and were able to be with our friends old and new. I spent the beautiful summer day walking around campus and felt so much hope for the year to come.

Why did you chose to attend Holy Cross?
Holy Cross is a community built on the basis of strong academics and relationships as well as endless opportunities. The first time I visited campus, it was a cold and rainy winter day. Yet, regardless of the weather, campus still felt warm and inviting. The people were friendly, the architecture was gorgeous, and everything my tour guide shared excited me more and more. I remember thinking ‘if a place can be so beautiful on the worst of winter days, I can only imagine it on the best’. I revisited over the summer, and my initial reaction was validated; Holy Cross is a great place to experience all that college has to offer.

Why did you become a tour guide?
When I took my tour of Holy Cross my tour guide showed me how friendly and sociable the campus community was. After my tour I knew I wanted to come to Holy Cross. I have since experienced the outstanding Holy Cross family that was described by my tour guide, and feel I am an active member of the community. I want to share my pride and love of Holy Cross with prospective students.

What is one highlight of your Holy Cross experience thus far?
I have made many memories with my friends and classmates by hanging out or through clubs and campus activities. If I had to choose one highlight from my experience so far it would be scoring four touchdowns at my first home ultimate frisbee tournament. I loved being able to celebrate and share in the excitement of this accomplishment with my teammates!

Why did you chose to attend Holy Cross?
My high school had a very strong sense of community among students and teachers. Throughout my college search I was looking for a college with strong academic programs, but also the strong sense of community I had while I was in high school. My tour guide showed me that Holy Cross had exactly that.  Hearing stories of campus pride and strong connections with professors, I knew Holy Cross was where I wanted to be. I found the sense of community as soon as I stepped on campus, making friends and memories. I know I am where I am supposed to be.

Why did you choose to attend Holy Cross?
I chose to attend Holy Cross because the second I stepped onto campus I knew it was home. Aside from the spectacular reputation and challenging academics, Holy Cross offered me a tight knit community of caring professors and kind students. Coming from a very small, all girls high school I felt that Holy Cross was the perfect size. The individual attention and smaller class sizes create a productive academic environment that truly encourages growth and exploration.

Why did you want to become a tour guide?
The moment I knew I wanted to be a tour guide was when I was walking to class one afternoon and saw a tour going on. I wanted to jump in and answer any questions and share my experiences thus far. I love Holy Cross so much and want to share my Holy Cross pride with prospective students and parents.

What is one highlight of your Holy Cross experience thus far? By far one of the best Holy Cross experiences I have had thus far was on my birthday. It was the first time I had ever been away from home on that day, but my brand new friends made it one of the most memorable birthdays I have ever had. My roommates took me out to dinner at The Fix, all while a bunch of my friends planned a surprise party back in the Brooks-Mulledy common room. When my roommates and I returned to campus and walked into our dorm, all of my friends jumped up and yelled "Surprise!" They had decorated with a banner, they made a cake, and they all pitched in to buy me a little gift from the bookstore. The kindness, thought, and care that went into this gesture blew me away. This small action, I feel, is indicative of the entire Holy Cross community. We are kind, thoughtful, and care deeply about one another. Choosing to attend Holy Cross was by far the best decision I have ever made.

Why did you choose to attend Holy Cross?
I wanted to attend a smaller liberal arts college and Holy Cross seemed like the perfect fit. I also loved the sense of community that I felt on campus when I came for my tour. I liked the way the students described it by saying that Holy Cross was small enough that you were able to see familiar faces around campus, but large enough that you are able to meet a new person every day. I am so glad I choose Holy Cross because it has allowed me to grow in many ways and form amazing connections with those around me.

Why did you want to become a tour guide?
I worked as a tour guide in high school as well and I love being able to be a part of a prospective student's first impression of the school. Whenever I toured colleges I felt like the tour guides played a huge role in my impression of the college and I wanted to be able to provide students with a great first impression of Holy Cross.

What is one highlight of your Holy Cross experience thus far?
A highlight of my Holy Cross experience so far has been the CBL (Community-Based Learning) work that I participated in through my Introduction to Latin course. My class worked to come up with lessons to teach elementary students in Worcester. I loved being able to meet with the younger students and teach them a language that they might not otherwise have the chance to learn and also form connections and act as a mentor to them.

One highlight of my experience at Holy Cross has been meeting best friends who I know I will have for a life time.

Why did you chose to attend Holy Cross?

Why did you chose to attend Holy Cross?
For the liberal arts education. Coming into college I really didn't know what I wanted to do. I knew I liked chemistry, but I also excelled at writing essays and research papers. Why did you choose to attend Holy Cross?
I chose Holy Cross first and foremost for the incredible, energetic community that exists on campus and within the alumni network. I felt very comfortable on Holy Cross' campus during my tour, and could tell from talking with then-current students and alumni that I would be surrounded by driven and compassionate individuals. Academically, I was very drawn to the Jesuit approach to the humanities, and loved that what I was learning would be put in the context of social justice. I could tell that my education from Holy Cross would be something of value that I could use to help others in my future career. Finally, I loved that Holy Cross encourages all students to take the time to explore their academic and personal interests by providing a wide variety of classes, extracurricular activities, and study abroad programs.

Why did you want to become a tour guide?
My tour of Holy Cross was what piqued my interest in this school, so I would love to be able to pay that forward as a current student who has loved her time here! I hope I can help prospective students see Holy Cross as a place like no other, and as something they want to be a part of.

What is one highlight of your Holy Cross experience thus far?
Because of the remote format, I was not able to meet my fellow Montserrat peers and our professor in person until March of my spring semester. Everyone in my Montserrat class met for breakfast at Cool Beans and walked to class together to commemorate finally being all together in person. What made the morning even better was finally being able to meet our professor in real life, who was such a huge help and support system for us all during the fall semester.

Why did you chose to attend Holy Cross?
I chose Holy Cross because of the sense of community I felt when I came here. I loved the pride everyone had in their school, both during their four years on the hill and afterwards. As my initial tour was very influential in my decision making process, I wanted to be able to use both my interpersonal skills and knowledge of the campus to help prospective students feel connected to HC and get a genuine feel of the HC experience.

One highlight of my HC experience thus far would be my experience on the club running team. I have met wonderful people, made strong connections with my peers, and have been able to continue a sport I love while in college.

Why did you chose to attend Holy Cross?
My college search was based around how I wanted to attend a school that has a solid liberal arts tradition along with a focus on quality teaching, lifelong learning, critical thinking, and rigorous academic standards. After receiving my tour as a prospective freshman, I was able to see first-hand how Holy Cross’ values are guided by service and an awareness of doing for others through community service programs, service learning semesters, immersion experiences and various volunteer opportunities. I chose Holy Cross because of the immense feeling of school pride that the campus radiates. When I came for accepted students day, there was a group of students lined up, applauding each of us as we walked in. I wanted to become a part of this community that was so proud of their school and so excited to welcome me into it. This community extends beyond the campus, evident in not only the robust alumni network, but also in the spontaneous conversations that I have with alumni who stop to talk when they see me wearing Holy Cross apparel in public.

Why did you choose to attend Holy Cross?
I chose to attend Holy Cross for the exceptional well-rounded academic programs rooted in Jesuit traditions. As a high school senior, I was overwhelmed by the thought of having to declare my major on a college application; Holy Cross relieves that stress by having all students begin their college experience undeclared to allow time to discover what you are truly passionate about. I also loved how Holy Cross puts a significant focus on the Jesuit principle of "cura personalis" or "care for the whole person". At Holy Cross you are not just getting an education; you're getting a life-long family that will encourage and support you!

Why did you want to become a tour guide?
I wanted to become a campus tour guide because of the amazing tour and admissions experiences I had when applying to Holy Cross. I remember how daunting choosing your home for the next four years can be, especially coming all from all the way from California. I want to help prospective students fall in love with the amazing campus and community just as I did!

What is one highlight of your Holy Cross experience thus far?
My favorite experience at Holy Cross so far was during my class's first semester on campus in January of 2021. There had just been a huge snowstorm and my entire class headed down to freshman field one afternoon when classes were over and went sledding down all of the hills. It was the first real time we had all bonded since we were online during our first fall semester. It was so much fun sharing sleds and getting to know my fellow classmates!

Holy Cross has always felt like home. From the first time I stepped on campus to the end of my first year, Holy Cross has been a welcoming community that has provided me with a sense of support in all aspects of college life. Most of my favorite Holy Cross experiences are through the Chaplain's Office. I love retreats and even though we were a community dispersed for most of 2020, the chaplains still managed to continue their retreats and events remotely. In Sept. 2020 I started meeting with an all women's retreat group once a week, and it has been the most incredible experience. We have met every week all year long and most weeks this group is my saving grace. Studying remotely is very isolating, but this group reminds me how much I love the HC community. I love my soul squads sisters and could not imagine this past year without them!

Why did you become a tour guide?
Holy Cross was the first school that I toured when I was looking at colleges in high school. Although it was a cold and gloomy day in February, my tour guide was still able to highlight the bright and welcoming community that Holy Cross provides. I want to be able to show prospective students that this college provides an amazing and unique experience academically, socially, and religiously and how Holy Cross can become a second home.

What is one highlight of your Holy Cross experience thus far?
One highlight would have to be the Battle of the Bands that occurred at the end of the semester. Everyone went to the Hoval to watch our fellow students perform in their respective bands and it was amazing to see everyone's talent! It was a perfect day to sit outside and listen to live music with friends right before finals. It felt like community and a fun break before classes and work began to pick up.

Why did you chose to attend Holy Cross?
I chose Holy Cross because of the rigorous Jesuit liberal arts education that it provides. I did not know what I wanted to study going into college and the liberal arts education here allowed me the opportunity to explore different departments while embedding Jesuit practices of community and leadership through volunteer engagement. Seeing this strong community both on campus and off, in Worcester, made me fall in love with the college, and ultimately felt that this school was the right fit for me.

Why did you choose to attend Holy Cross?
Holy Cross was the first school I toured, and I left The Hill that day saying that I did not need to look any further. After 15 college applications, the instant love and connection that I felt with Holy Cross remained with me. It was the perfect fit. Choosing Holy Cross has been the best decision that I have ever made.

Why did you want to become a tour guide?
I wanted to become a tour guide because I love this school, and I hope to inspire the same love for Holy Cross that I felt on my tour.

What is one highlight of your Holy Cross experience thus far?
One of my favorite Holy Cross experiences was the first warm spring day on campus. My first year on The Hill was unusual with the limitations brought by COVID-19. On that day, students were walking around campus and relaxing on the Hoval. They were studying, eating, and playing games together. There were sounds of laughter and many smiles, which could be seen even under masks. For the first time in nearly a year, I felt a sense of normalcy. I remember thinking how perfectly that day seemed to symbolize what Holy Cross is all about: making memories with good friends and enjoying the beautiful campus that we all call home.

Why did you choose to attend Holy Cross?
It really came down to class size for me. I love being a face and a name, not just a number. The classes are small enough where forming connections with other students and the professors isn’t just attainable, but natural. The people at Holy Cross, students and staff alike, have a tangible passion for this school and it is amazing to be a part of a community like that. I knew I would feel cared for here, and that has only proven more true as I continue my experience at the College.

Why did you want to become a tour guide?
The summer before I got into the school, I went on a tour at Holy Cross. It really, sincerely made up my mind about wanting to come here. I just remember seeing so many students waving and smiling at each other, and it showed me how friendly and accepting this campus is. I wanted to be a tour guide because I wanted to see other students fall in love with Holy Cross just like I did, and I am so excited to be a part of that.

What is one highlight of your Holy Cross experience thus far?
My favorite memory so far is the first seventy degree day we had on campus this spring. The semester had been pretty isolating before that, with COVID restrictions dictating a whole lot of what we could and could not do, but on that first seventy degree day, everyone was outside (socially distanced with masks) and campus felt alive. Seeing so many students sitting on the green grass reminded me that I am part of a much bigger community, live on a beautiful campus, and that there are friendly faces all around.

Why did you choose to attend Holy Cross?
I chose Holy Cross because of the kind, tight-knit community evident throughout the (many) tours I took as a high school senior. The pride that all members of the Holy Cross community have for their school was evident during my visits, and I was eager to become a part of it. Additionally, a liberal arts education was crucial to me, especially since I have so many different interests I wanted to study going into college.

Why did you want to become a tour guide?
While touring colleges during my senior year of high school, the tour guide was a crucial factor in forming my opinion of a school. Whether positive or negative, the school’s tour guide had a major impact on my decision making for the college search process. As such, I am eager to represent the school I have grown so proud of and share my love for the College of the Holy Cross with prospective students.

What is one highlight of your Holy Cross experience thus far?
My favorite Holy Cross experience thus far has been the opportunity to participate in the Community-Based Learning (CBL) program as part of my Montserrat course. I was placed at Brookdale Eddy Pond, a senior living facility in Auburn, MA, where I spoke with a senior, Chris, throughout the duration of my freshman year. During our weekly visits, Chris and I grew very close speaking about his ongoing sundial project and life in general. Hearing from Chris that our conversations are consistently the best part of his week represents the power of the CBL program at Holy Cross.

Why did you choose to attend Holy Cross?
I chose Holy Cross because of the amazing people here. Every time I toured campus, I was met with another friendly face who was not only willing to talk to me but excited to do so. After my second tour, I met a senior who talked to me about all things Holy Cross; she was not my tour guide, but just someone I ran into while walking across campus. She did not need to spend so much time talking with me, but she wanted to. After leaving that day, we kept in touch and I ultimately told her when I got accepted. I quickly realized that this passion and kindness was completely unique and special to Holy Cross.

Why did you want to become a tour guide?
While taking tours, I always put myself in the tour guides’ shoes, trying to fully grasp what it would be like to attend that particular school. My tour guides at Holy Cross were personable and so genuinely excited about their time on campus, causing me to fall in love with the school even more. So, I wanted to be this face for prospective students and help them fall in love with the school that has given me so much.

What is one highlight of your Holy Cross experience thus far?
The first warm day on campus this past spring has to be my favorite memory. Seeing everyone outside enjoying the sunshine gave campus such a happy and inviting feeling, even more so than usual. It was the perfect refresh after a cold winter and a kick start to the stretch until summer.

Why did you choose to attend Holy Cross?
Being from Texas, I didn’t know about Holy Cross until my junior year in high school. At that time, I found several Jesuit institutions to visit, but the minute I stepped onto this campus, my college decision was made. During that visit, I was captivated by the small campus feel, friendly atmosphere, and beautiful architectural buildings. My love of Holy Cross grew steadily from a picture on the internet to a campus visit and then ultimately to a commitment to attend as a member of the Class of 2024. I would have never thought that I would want to go so far away from home for college, but I truly believe that Holy Cross is a special place and one that I had to attend.

Why did you want to become a tour guide?
I want to be a Tour Guide in order to share my story with potential students because I hope they will find a new home on the campus as I once did. Overall, this school has a provided me with an excellent education and a sense of community amongst my friends. I would love to share my experiences with others who are interested in coming to Holy Cross, as well as answer their questions as they tour Mount St. James.

What is one highlight of your Holy Cross experience thus far?
During the spring semester of 2021 I had the opportunity to experience a Holy Cross football game for the first time. Although I was still in a Covid-19 environment, I had a great time cheering on the Holy Cross players. I was surrounded by my best friends (met during my first year), fellow Holy Cross students, and football parents. This football game made me feel like a true member of the Holy Cross community as we sang football chants and cheered for the team.

Why did you choose to attend Holy Cross?
I chose to attend Holy Cross because I wanted a strong academic community that was not spread across multitudes of students, but embodied in a familial few. When I originally walked around campus, it was obvious how the students knew, acknowledged, and celebrated one another. To me, this made the school feel like not only a place for intellectual growth, but for lifelong growth as well.

Why did you want to become a tour guide?
Holy Cross is like second home to me and I wanted to share this community and campus with prospective students as a Tour Guide. I am so proud to be a Crusader and am honored to show students all there is to love about Mount St. James. Being a Tour Guide is a way for me to give back to a school that has already given me so much and I love being able to express the joy of Holy Cross with others!

What is one highlight of your Holy Cross experience thus far?
One of my favorite Holy Cross experiences was seeing the campus come alive during the first warm day after a chilly winter. It was so special to watch the flowers blossom and ivy grow as students studied, laughed, and enjoyed the outdoors together.

Why did you become a tour guide?
I wanted to become a tour guide so that I could live the Jesuit mission of the college. I can be a woman for and with others by helping students explore all the opportunities Holy Cross has to offer. It was the love and passion shared among students and alumni that pulled me to HC and now I am able to share my appreciation for Holy Cross as well!

What is one highlight of your Holy Cross experience thus far?
My first semester was even better than I could have imagined! My favorite moments so far have been sharing my second home with my mom during family weekend. Holy Cross planned the perfect weekend with food trucks, campus activities and the football game! The Kid Laroi concert this fall was also a highlight of my experience on The Hill so far!

Why did you chose to attend Holy Cross?
During COVID, I joined countless virtual tours and information sessions for different universities. Holy Cross was unique because all of the students and alumni I connected with were beyond excited to share their experience at Holy Cross. Specifically, I loved the small size of HC which creates a tight knit community and small classes that build strong relationships between students and professors. It didn’t take long for Holy Cross to feel like my home and it is the best feeling to know I chose the right school for me!

From the moment I finished my tour at Holy Cross, I knew it was the place for me. That gut feeling of belonging I felt was unmatched. I wanted to share my experiences and love for Holy Cross with others and fulfill that role of welcoming new members into the Holy Cross community.

What is one highlight of your Holy Cross experience thus far?
One of my favorite memories at Holy Cross was the first spring day on St. Patrick's day weekend. I have never seen the hoval so alive with music, games, ice cream trucks and hammocks. Everyone was so happy to sit outside all together and just enjoy the moment. Seeing campus so alive, all together and living in the moment was a highlight for me.

Why did you chose to attend Holy Cross?
In my college search I wanted a welcoming community with a basis in catholic education and spirit. Holy Cross offered a deep education in all areas following the Jesuit basis with a strong pre-med program, provided a sense of pride and spirit through athletics and an overwhelming amount of activities and organizations to provide a sense of community. Overall after my tour I felt the community aspect at Holy Cross was unmatched and I was meant to be here.

Why did you choose to attend Holy Cross?
Holy Cross was undeniably in my blood. The minute I stepped on campus it felt like I had arrived home. It was one of my final tours, and I kept waiting for the magic feeling that I had found the right school and Holy Cross was it. Everyone who attends Holy Cross is a Crusader for life, the purple pride, amazing professors, and big school resources coming from a smaller school are some of the most impressive factors of Holy Cross.

Why did you want to become a tour guide?
I'm always talking about my love for Holy Cross so I am thrilled to share my passion with prospective students! Having an enthusiastic tour guide played a huge role in my choice to attend Holy Cross and I'm hoping to provide that excitement for others!

One of my favorite experiences at HC has definitely been sledding down the hills during the wild snowstorms! Looking out into the halls and seeing everyone grabbing plastic bins, trash can lids lids, and pretty much anything else that could aid you down the hill and running outside is the best! Getting to race down the hills with your friends and seeing everyone outside together truly feels like the classic college experience!

Why did you become a tour guide?
I decided to become a tour guide because I would love to help other students find their place at Holy Cross the same way I feel that I have found mine. I did a self-guided tour of the school during Covid, so I unfortunately did not get to experience having a student show me around Holy Cross. However, I found that when touring other schools, my opinion often fluctuated based on how enthusiastic my tour guide was about their school. I feel that because I am so passionate about my love for and belief in Holy Cross as an institution, I, too, could help prospective students to find their place here.

What is one highlight of your Holy Cross experience thus far?
One highlight of my Holy Cross experience so far has been the first year Cluster program. I found that the living-learning aspect helped me to connect with other students quickly and I was able to find my place very early on at Holy Cross.

Why did you chose to attend Holy Cross?
Holy Cross has a tight-knit community and well-rounded student body. When I was taking part in my own college search, I knew that the core values of a Jesuit education were incredibly important to me and that the religious nature behind Holy Cross would lead to a community that finds value in togetherness.  I am also thankful that because of a liberal arts education, I have been placed outside my comfort zone and been able to discover passions outside of my intended major.

Why did you choose to attend Holy Cross?
Holy Cross checked all of my boxes! The school was close to home, but it wasn’t close enough for my parents to come visit me every week. As I was applying to colleges, money was a huge factor in my decision making. Holy Cross gave me a lot of scholarship money and made sure that I’d be able to afford to come. I also grew up in small schools and wanted a college that had a close knit community where professors would know who I am.

Why did you want to become a tour guide?
When I was going on tours my junior year of high school, I always relied on the tours of each school. When I toured at Holy Cross, it was pouring out, but my tour guide still made me see the beauty in the school. Not only did they inform me of all the great things about the liberal art college, they made me see myself walking this campus and being here the next four years. I want to be able to do the same for other potential students and make a difference in their decision making when choosing a college for their next chapter in life.

What is one highlight of your Holy Cross experience thus far?
One of my favorite experiences so far is participating in SPUD. Every week I went to the Friendly House and volunteered to mentor students from low income families around the community. I formed a lot of close relations with the kids and it always brightened my day whenever I saw how excited they got when I arrived at the Friendly House.

Why did you become a tour guide? I was a nervous wreck when applying to schools. I spent days stressing over where to apply, admission decisions, scholarships, and so forth. But when I got my HC acceptance letter, I realized that the anxiety I had endured was unnecessary. Sure, college applications are important, but you shouldn’t lose

sleep over them (like I was). That’s why I’m a tour guide. Not only do I want to show people this incredible campus, but I also want to calm people’s nerves about the whole process. Applying to college doesn’t have to be scary, and I want to make sure people know that.

What is one highlight of your Holy Cross experience thus far? I’ll never forget my first broadcast. I was color commentating a Holy Cross football game versus Lafayette, and it was such an incredible experience. Not only did we win big (thanks in part to Ayir Asante’s three touchdown catches), but I had fulfilled a childhood dream of mine, and I then decided that sports

media was what I wanted to do with my life.

Why did you chose to attend Holy Cross?
Even though I am the son of two alumni, that’s not the reason I chose to attend.  I had no idea what I wanted to do in college, and I figured my best bet was to get a well-rounded education, with the hopes of finding what I’d want to major in while doing that. I’d say that plan worked out pretty nicely.

Why did you choose to attend Holy Cross?
The three most important things that drew me to Holy Cross were its size, values, and the liberal arts education style. I have always gone to small schools and have loved the personal relationships that I have been able to form with my teachers. My siblings both attended Jesuit schools and I have long admired the values that they instill in each of their students, particularly community and respect. Lastly, I am still unsure of what I want to major in, so I wanted a school that offered me a well-rounded education before I had to decide a career path.

Why did you want to become a tour guide?
I was involved with the admissions program at my high school and my favorite part about it was seeing people that I gave a tour to attending my school the next year. I wanted to continue this at Holy Cross because I love meeting new people and learning more about their interests while sharing my own.

What is one highlight of your Holy Cross experience thus far?
My first week here on campus was absolutely freezing, and after a few days in January 2021 it finally snowed. Everyone ran outside that night with anything they could find and we all went sledding down the hill together. It was such a great way to meet new people and take part in an age-old tradition here at Holy Cross!

Why did you choose to attend Holy Cross?
I love Holy Cross for a multitude of reasons.  I love the campus, the small student body size, the professor to student ratio, the athletic community, and living in New England, just to name a few.  When I came to visit in the spring, I was able to attend a track meet at the end of the day and meet many of the coaches and guys on the team while watching them compete.  After having spent the day on campus I already knew this was where I wanted to spend the next 4 years, and the opportunity to immerse myself in the track community and meet the guys who would become my teammates and family really sealed the deal for me.

Why did you want to become a tour guide?
I am a proud member of both the HC Men’s Track and Field team and NROTC, so I am a dedicated member of the Holy Cross community and I love giving back to this community.  I helped create and operate a student tour guide program at my high school and thoroughly enjoyed my time leading prospective students and families on tours around campus and answering their questions.  Knowing how important a school visit can be in the decision making process, it was always very rewarding as a high school tour guide to see new faces each fall that had previously been in my tour groups.  My visit to Holy Cross was an extremely critical part of my decision to attend this school, and I believe in the “love at first sight” aspect in the decision making process as well as the power of a first impression.  I wanted to be a part of this process and experience for our potential new Saders.

What is one highlight of your Holy Cross experience thus far?
One of my favorite memories from school so far was the Track Banquet my freshman year.  When we learned of the disappointing news that we would be going home for the rest of the academic year in just a few days in March, the juniors were able to put together a celebration for the seniors so they would still be able to get their proper send-off from the team even though our season was cut short.  Having this opportunity for one last goodbye to our seniors, facilitated by the juniors, really showed me how close-knit of a family our team was and how important we were to each other.

Why did you choose to attend Holy Cross?
Holy Cross was the first college I visited, my expectations were high, and Holy Cross met all of my expectations and some. While touring the College, the students were so friendly and kind, and I realized these were the types of people I would like to surround myself with. I also really appreciated the liberal arts education provided at Holy Cross and surrounding myself with other hardworking and academically driven students.

Why did you want to become a tour guide?
When I toured Holy Cross, the tour guide had similar interests as me, and I saw how happy she was at Holy Cross, and I almost saw myself in her. I wanted to become a tour guide because I would like to have the chance to express my love and happiness at Holy Cross to future college students and if they can see themselves belonging at Holy Cross through my tour.

What is one highlight of your Holy Cross experience thus far?
Thus far, one of my favorite Holy Cross experiences was the College Transition Program (CTP) and Mentor Program. Since I am a first-generation student, these programs allowed me to bond with other students similar to me and feel welcomed. I have met some of the most extraordinary people of all ages. I have also enjoyed meeting other campus faculty and staff involved in the Office of Multicultural Education, who have greatly enlightened my first year at Holy Cross with all the support they provide.

I enjoyed these short interactions so much that I wanted to replicate them on a larger scale by becoming a tour guide!

What is one highlight of your Holy Cross experience thus far?
Moving in, in the Fall of 2021 for my first fully in person year on the hill, and having the opportunity to meet new people, and partake in normal on campus events, such as the Fall Concert made me feel the sense of community that is so special about Holy Cross. Regaining normalcy and seeing the campus come alive with energy was truly magical and a time period I will never forget.

Why did you chose to attend Holy Cross?
Holy Cross stood out to me immediately because of its intimate class sizes and  welcoming campus environment. Being able to build close relationships with my professors and peers is unheard of at larger institutions and is an element of a Jesuit education that sets Holy Cross apart. Further, the interdisciplinary nature of the curriculum has helped me become more well-rounded academically and exposed me to new fields of interest.

Why did you choose to attend Holy Cross?
Ever since I first visited Holy Cross, it felt like home. The sense of a small community allowed me to feel like I belonged to HC.

Why did you want to become a tour guide?
I want other students to know that everything is possible. A year ago somewhere like Holy Cross seemed unreal to me. So many people told me that college in the US was not even an option for me. As a tour guide, I want to make sure that no student feels that way. I want them to know that hard work and perseverance are critical and Holy Cross requires that. Furthermore, I hope to show why this place has changed my life.

What is one highlight of your Holy Cross experience thus far? I was part of our immersion trip to Camden, NJ during the spring. It was one of the most challenging and enriching experiences I ever had. We were able to be part of the realities of so many other people outside the Hill. Why did you become a tour guide?
I wanted to become a tour guide to help show the world and all those interested about our amazing school and campus, as well as learn more about the history and atmosphere of the campus.

What is one highlight of your Holy Cross experience thus far?
My highlight of being at Holy Cross has got to be the Kid Lorai concert, but also all the amazing friends and professors I've met.

Why did you chose to attend Holy Cross?
I chose to attend Holy Cross based on its immaculate education and science programs, and due to the friendliness and connection I felt on the hill.

Why did you choose to attend Holy Cross?
When I was looking at colleges, I knew that I wanted to go to a school that had phenomenal academics where I could really work with my professors individually on topics I cared about. Having gone to a Jesuit high school, I also was drawn to Jesuit schools because of their core values and commitment to social justice and making the world a better place. I also wanted to go to a school where there was a really welcoming community in which I would really find my place and thrive. Sure, you can find a lot of those things individually at many schools, but Holy Cross was truly the only school where I could find all of them.

Why did you want to become a tour guide?
I remember when I was in the middle of college applications, I was constantly bombarded with thousands of emails and pamphlets, to the point that it became information overload of sorts. The one thing that really helped me to get a feel for a school's campus and community, more than anything else, was the tours that I had. I've loved every minute of my time so far at Holy Cross, and I wanted the opportunity to share that with prospective students and show them why Holy Cross is such a great place.

What is one highlight of your Holy Cross experience thus far?
So far, I've really enjoyed my Montserrat class. I've always been interested in politics and international studies, so I was really surprised when I was placed in a class that focused on Latin American Art and Cinema. The fact that I don't take Spanish either didn't help. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find that this class became one of my favorite, as I talked about so many topics and poignant issues from film and art criticism to race and the rights of indigenous peoples in Latin America. It really opened my eyes to a whole host of issues that I hadn't spent a lot of time with before, and to be able to talk about and discuss them with my small class was really great.

Why did you choose to attend Holy Cross?
I chose to attend Holy Cross for the exceptional Jesuit, liberal arts education. I believed that Holy Cross would be a place where I could be happy and healthy living here on the Hill. That has proven to be true and then some.

Why did you want to become a tour guide?
I wanted to become a tour guide because I really love being a student at Holy Cross. I'd like to show that pride and joy to prospective students and families as they navigate the college admissions process, while also learning about them and their interest in Holy Cross.

What is one highlight of your Holy Cross experience thus far?
I feel very fortunate in the friendships and relationships I have formed with classmates, faculty and staff, and am greatly looking forward to all that's ahead in the next three years.

Why did you choose to attend Holy Cross?
Apart from the academic prestige associated with the college, I chose to attend Holy Cross for several reasons. Primarily, the community surrounding Holy Cross is unlike no other. The bond that is formed both among the students and between the faculty and the students is something that I feel is unique to Holy Cross. Everyone is truly looking out for each other at all times and the faculty are always willing to help you with whatever you need. Next, the campus is absolutely stunning regardless of the weather. Even on gloomy days, Holy Cross still manages to look beautiful. Lastly, Holy Cross felt like home from the minute I stepped on campus. Everyone is so welcoming and truly wants you to join the community which was very different from many of my college tours.

Why did you want to become a tour guide?
I wanted to become a tour guide to showcase our incredible school and allow other people to witness our community.

What is one highlight of your Holy Cross experience thus far?
One of my favorite Holy Cross experiences thus far was convocation. The mass was beautiful and it was a great way for our class to come together in the beginning of the year.

I became a tour guide because I wanted to have an impact on others' decisions to come to Holy Cross and show them why our community is so special.

Why did you chose to attend Holy Cross? I chose Holy Cross because of the Jesuit, liberal arts education and the closeknit community. When I arrived on campus for my tour I could immediately see myself here for the next four years. Much of this came from the great

experience I had with my tour guide when I visited Holy Cross. She was very personable, supportive and informative.

Why did you become a tour guide?
I became a tour guide because my tour of Holy Cross was what sealed my college decision and gave me relief that I felt at home here. I hope to be this relief to other prospective students and share what I love about Holy Cross!

What is one highlight of your Holy Cross experience thus far? The biggest highlight of my Holy Cross experience has been the relationships I have made with friends, professors, and the community. In such a short amount of time I know I have already made lifelong friends. My professors reach out to me personally and are genuinely invested in helping me find my

interests. The community of Holy Cross is one that puts others first and encourages everyone to do the same. At Holy Cross I always feel the community’s support and love.

Why did you chose to attend Holy Cross?
I chose to attend Holy Cross because it gave me that feeling of home when I thought about it and walked around the campus. The mission of the school and the students I witnessed felt ambitious like myself and my goals, but as if they were going to push me past them. Not only did Holy Cross check the boxes of what I wanted in a college: small, liberal arts, on the East Coast, and Catholic, but it gave me that feeling that here I would be comfortable but more importantly challenged.

Why did you become a tour guide?
I've absolutely loved my Holy Cross experience so far and I truly think it's a very special school. I immediately felt at home when I arrived at Holy Cross and have felt so welcomed by the community here. I want to become a tour guide so I can show prospective students what makes the Holy Cross experience so enriching. Last year, as I was going through the college process virtually, it was often difficult to get a feel for the atmosphere at each school. However, the enthusiasm and passion I felt from Holy Cross, even though the screen, was unlike any other school. Now that I am here, the school has truly lived up to everything I thought it would be. I would love to be a part of the group that promotes Holy Cross and encourages prospective students.

What is one highlight of your Holy Cross experience thus far?
Although there are many highlights of my Holy Cross experience, the one that sticks out the most is my time in my Montserrat class. Taking college courses is a new experience and as a freshman it can be intimidating. My Montserrat offered a smaller community that I could easily connect with. With my Montserrat I've been able to create special bonds with both my classmates and my professor that I hope will strengthen even more this semester.

Why did you chose to attend Holy Cross?
There is a very special sense of community at Holy Cross and I've felt so welcomed since I've been here. This intimate environment has allowed me to connect with my fellow classmates and my professors to form very enriching relationships. Much of this results from the Jesuit credo of men and women for others, which is apparent in the student body, in the classroom and in the community at large. Anybody that currently attends or has attended Holy Cross has nothing but good things to say about their experience at the school and the relationships that they formed during their time on the hill.

Why did you become a tour guide?
I became a tour guide because I had an amazing tour experience myself. Due to the pandemic, I watched an online tour but I still felt the joyous spirit that the students had even through the computer screen. As I am now a part of the wonderful community here at Holy Cross I want to spread this welcoming atmosphere to everyone. Holy Cross is a special school that truly values you as a person and we all want you to flourish and develop into the best version of yourself. Thus, I hope I can show you all the wonders of our school on my tour!

What is one highlight of your Holy Cross experience thus far?
It is certainly hard to choose just one singular highlight from my Holy Cross experience so far, as I have had so many already. However, a couple certainly stand out to me. Every Friday night my friends and I will find a show or movie that we want to watch. We will make popcorn that we got from the lobby shop and sit in the common room to watch. These moments are some of my most favorite because I have certainly made some of the closest friendships with the people in my hall and the best memories there as well. In our room, my roommate and I will tell each other when we have important test dates coming up so that we know we should get to bed earlier or be quiet when they are trying to sleep. One day I remember I was very nervous for one of my tests, and when I woke up the day of the test my roommate had left me notes all around my room with phrases “You got this” and “You are smart”. Waking up to those sweet messages put a smile on my face and certainly made me feel more prepared for my exam. I returned the favor the next week when she had her test. Lastly, during the Inauguration of our College’s 33rd President my friends and I bundled up on the cold autumn night to go and celebrate this wonderful event. We ate delicious treats, danced, took photo booth pictures, and watched the gorgeous fireworks while we sat on the hill. It was certainly a night I will never forget.

Why did you chose to attend Holy Cross?
Growing up I came from a very small town in Massachusetts where almost every corner you turned was a familiar welcoming face. This tight knit aspect was certainly something I truly treasured as I felt like an important part of our community. As I proceeded on my college decisions I looked for a school with a similar environment. Unfortunately it was difficult to try and find this as most schools were shut down due to the pandemic. I watched videos of campus life and used google maps to see what the campuses looked like “in-person”. With all the schools I looked at there was something extremely special about Holy Cross. I still vividly remember watching a 46 minute campus tour video led by a Junior and a Senior who were extremely enthusiastic. They waved hello to every student they walked past and shared several wonderful stories from their own campus experiences. Even though I was viewing the school through a video I felt as if I was there. The two students were extremely friendly and made me feel welcome even through the computer screen. There was certainly something special that set Holy Cross apart from every other school, and it was that tight knit community. As I am now a part of that community I can say that coming to Holy Cross was the best decision I ever made.

Why did you become a tour guide?
The behemoth that is the college admissions process can be daunting as everyone is merely searching for the place meant for them. I wanted to be a guiding light through the forest of applications to show applicants how Holy Cross can be the missing piece in the puzzle of their life, just as I had discovered not so long ago.

What is one highlight of your Holy Cross experience thus far?
The colors of passion and dedication are painted all over Holy Cross. They are evident in the student body and the extracurriculars but are rooted in academics. The professors and courses drive each student to be the best versions of themselves while giving them the tools needed to succeed. I’ve loved my academic journey at the college so far and can’t wait to see what’s in store.

Why did you chose to attend Holy Cross? I had many ideas of what I wanted college to be, but I had trouble visualizing the whole picture. The first time I visited Holy Cross, I felt I could envision what my life could be like here. I could see myself sitting in class, eating with friends in Kimball, and walking the campus. I would travel abroad, join clubs, and fully immerse myself in the college’s values. Although, most importantly, I could see the potential in the next version of myself and how this campus could shape that person. Through the sheer amount of opportunity offered here, Holy Cross

invites everyone to become the next, better version of themselves in line with the Jesuit values of the college.

Why did you become a tour guide?
Exploring a college virtually is a great start, but actually stepping on campus, meeting with current students, and taking in all Holy Cross has to offer in person is an invaluable experience. I had so many questions during my college search, and my tour guide was a fantastic resource in answering my questions and demonstrating who a Holy Cross student is. As a tour guide, I want to show prospective students just how amazing Holy Cross is, as my campus visit is what sealed the deal for me. As a small part of your college search, I hope to bring the campus to life.

What is one highlight of your Holy Cross experience thus far?
While countless instances come to mind when I consider my highlights at Holy Cross (such as laughing in Kimball Dining Hall for hours with friends, getting to know classmates during class discussions, or attending sporting events with friends full of school spirit), some of my happiest days on the Hill have been spent with my teammates on the golf team. Whether it be a team breakfast after lifts or playing 9 holes at Worcester Country Club, I always look forward to spending time with them and am grateful to be a part of something so special.

Why did you chose to attend Holy Cross?
Holy Cross checked all of my boxes: small class sizes, Jesuit liberal arts education, beautiful campus, and connections with classmates and professors.  The well-roundedness a Holy Cross liberal arts education provides is an incredible opportunity to explore a variety of different subject areas and find the places you fit best. In doing so, students interact with a wide range of professors, advisors, and peers, building connections each step of the way in discovering who they are. The strong foundation a Holy Cross education provides in addition to its tight-knit student body and enchanting campus made attending Holy Cross one of the best decisions of my life.

Why did you choose to attend Holy Cross?
I chose Holy Cross for the great academics and small campus community! When I visited campus, I knew I wanted to be a part of the small, close-knit community here at Holy Cross.

I became a tour guide so I could show potential students the reasons I love Holy Cross and help them decide where they see themselves for the next four years! My tour guide at Holy Cross was a huge factor in my decision to come to school here, and I want to help other students love Holy Cross in the same way!

What is one highlight of your Holy Cross experience thus far? My favorite Holy Cross experience thus far has been Montserrat. The first-year seminar course welcomed me to campus and helped me meet some of my closest friends. By living with my Montserrat cluster, I found my best friends and future roommates. As well, by meeting with my class all year, I found my passion for philosophy and a great mentor in my professor. Montserrat helped me adjust to campus and learn to call Holy Cross my home!

One highlight of my Holy Cross experience thus far was my Community-Based Learning (CBL) experience with my Montserrat class, the Science of Happiness. I volunteered weekly with two hospice patients through New England Hospice and assembled a Legacy Project for them both. Why did you chose to attend Holy Cross?

I chose to attend Holy Cross because of its rigorous, liberal arts education, its small size, and welcoming community. I knew on the day of my interview, when students and faculty members alike held doors, waved, and said hello, that I belonged at Holy Cross.

Why did you choose to attend Holy Cross?
After participating in the Visions overnight program, I knew that Holy Cross was the place for me! I was able to see the emphasis that Holy Cross places on being a well-rounded individual. I knew that Holy Cross’s rigorous environment would test my capabilities, that its multitude of courses would allow me to explore and grow. Along with this, I knew that a Jesuit education would allow me to become closer to myself and those around me. The best thing about it all is that Holy Cross accepts and supports students from all faiths and backgrounds. One doesn’t have to be Catholic to be a spiritual person and reflect on life. Our Jesuit education embraces all of our differences and helps us come together to understand one another. Holy Cross offers everything that I could ever want in a college!

Why did you want to become a tour guide?
If it weren’t for the students that volunteered as tour guides and overnight hosts around a year ago, I probably wouldn’t be a student at this institution and be the person who I am today. I would be honored to even be the slightest part of the reason that someone chooses to become a Crusader. I do it because someone did it for me and I want to pay it forward in any and every way possible.

What is one highlight of your Holy Cross experience thus far? Going to Colorado through the Spring Break Immersion Program has been the best experience I’ve had at Holy Cross thus far! I was able to spend a week with other Crusaders I hadn’t had the pleasure of meeting until then. We all bonded over our experience of learning and helping out a community during this break. We had a ton of talks, laughs, and other fun memories that will stay with us forever. It was an incredible experience which I’ll continue to build upon with other immersion trips throughout my college career!

Becoming a tour guide means that I am able to help prospective and admitting students feel represented at the college while sharing what makes HC special to me. As I reflect on my time so far, I am grateful to have chosen the right home for me. I hope to help students and their families navigate the college admissions process and towards choosing the right decision!

What is one highlight of your Holy Cross experience thus far?
My most memorable highlight would be from my spring semester when I went to Boston for the Spring Break Immersion Program. I was apart of a group of four other strangers driving out to the Haley House Soup Kitchen. Here we reflected on our ways of defining “community” while learning about urban poverty in the city. By the end of the week I made new friends that have moved me to re-evaluate what it means to make a difference.

Why did you chose to attend Holy Cross?
I choose Holy Cross because when I visited the campus for the first time to attend a masc officershop, I could imagine seeing myself as a student. My first impression was that HC has the facilities and qualities that fit for my academic investment. What then stood out to me was the St. Andrews study-abroad program, diverse range of clubs and organizations, attention to career development, and the close community that the faculty and students bring.

Why did you choose to attend Holy Cross?
I went to a Jesuit High school and fell in love with the values and experiences that came with a Jesuit education. I felt that Holy Cross fit those values, but I could tell they went above and beyond. I loved the way that education at holy cross is not just restricted to the classroom, I felt that I would be educated as a whole person. This was reflected in both my admissions process and the community which I experienced when visiting campus. I immediately knew that I would come out of my four years with much more than a diploma.

Why did you want to become a tour guide?
Holy Cross quickly became a home to me after my first semester on campus, and the students are what make the community so amazing. I wanted to both share the community with others and help be a part of its growth.

What is one highlight of your Holy Cross experience thus far? My Spring Break Immersion to Camden, New Jersey was definitely my favorite experience at Holy Cross so far. Why did you choose to attend Holy Cross?
Exceptional academics in the form of a small, liberal arts, Jesuit institution would provide me with the means and support to explore my interests and succeed. This is what Holy Cross stands for and paired with its welcoming community, it easily became my first choice.

Why did you choose to attend Holy Cross?
I chose to attend Holy Cross because of their equal dedication to academics and community. Holy Cross students are passionate about creating a welcoming environment on and off campus. That sense of collaboration instead of competition among students is what makes this school so unique. When deciding on what college to attend in my senior year of high school, I found that Holy Cross was one of the only schools that had staff and students willing to answer any and all questions I had during the decision process. Communication and commitment to students both inside and outside the classroom are features of Holy Cross that I valued when deciding to attend.

Why did you want to become a tour guide?
I wanted to become a tour guide because I thought it would be a good way to interact with future Holy Cross students and families. I wanted to be able to share some of my experience when deciding to apply and attend Holy Cross. I know that the college search, application, and decision process can be tedious and daunting. Having gone through it myself and ending up at Holy Cross, I hope to be able to share some of what I have learned to make that process a little less stressful for prospective students.

One of my favorite Holy Cross experiences so far has been seeing every student crawl out from their dorms as soon as the temperature outside climbs above 65 degrees. Why did you choose to attend Holy Cross?
I wanted a small school with a strong community and Holy Cross is just that. I felt an immediate connection when I stepped on campus and everyone I talked to was so warm and welcoming. I knew it was a place where I could truly explore all of my interests and grow as an academic, as well as a person. While I consider myself a fairly indecisive person, choosing Holy Cross was one of the easiest (and best!) decisions I've ever made.

Why did you want to become a tour guide?
I've found a second home at Holy Cross. Despite being from Wisconsin, I've rarely ever felt homesick. I want to share what I love about my second home with prospective students. Choosing where to attend college can be such a daunting choice and I want to help with that decision. I had such a great tour experience at Holy Cross and I want other students to have just as great of an introduction to the college as I did.

What is one highlight of your Holy Cross experience thus far? I absolutely loved my Montserrat class! My entire class got so close and comfortable with each other throughout the year. My professor was so good at making us feel welcome at the college. We were able to foster such great conversations and really dove into the content of the class. We also attended a concert, workshops, went on walks, and participated in other group activities that really enhanced the class experience. That class helped me understand what a liberal arts education really is and made me truly feel apart of the Holy Cross community!

Why did you become a tour guide?
I became a tour guide in order to continue to celebrate this wonderful community that I belong to by sharing it with prospective students and to be that first face and support for said students. The college application process can be both exciting and nerve racking, and being able to support students whether by answering their questions or being a friendly face is something so special for me. Furthermore, I remember going into a few tours still wondering what the schools were about. The tours were so helpful for me in my decision making process, and I wanted to pay it forward.

What is one highlight of your Holy Cross experience thus far?
One of my highlights as a Holy Cross student so far was being a Gateways Fall orientation leader this past fall, the fall of 2021. It was my first time being back on campus since I left in March of 2019 due to COVID 19, and it was such an uplifting experience. Not only did I absolutely adore being able to support new students through their transition to college but loved making connections with them and my other orientation leaders as well. It was an experience in which the strength of the Holy Cross community truly shined through and further empowered me in my passion of welcoming and supporting new students.

Why did you chose to attend Holy Cross?
I chose to attend Holy Cross because of the immediate connection I felt to campus on my first tour and the incredibly welcoming community. On my first tour of Holy Cross in the summer before my senior year, I was still unaware of how I felt about attending the school. However, after being met by a welcoming tour guide and relishing in the beauty of the campus, I began to feel that this was my place. My passion for Holy Cross and confidence that this was to be my school were only solidified following a recruitment visit for track. Everyone I met was so warm and kind, and I knew my decision was made when while driving away, every part of me wanted to go back and spend more time there.

Why did you become a tour guide?
My tour at Holy Cross was what solidified my decision to come here. Being able to experience the campus community was instrumental in my decision. I want to share the wide variety of opportunities that Holy Cross has to offer with prospective students and how there is something for everyone whether it be academically, spiritually, in extracurriculars, on a sports team, or whatever they desire their college experience to look like.

What is one highlight of your Holy Cross experience thus far?
One highlight of my Holy Cross experience so far was the Christmas tree lighting outside of O'Kane. It was a great way to spend an hour with some friends and a ton of people throughout the Holy Cross community while supporting the a cappella groups, having cookies, and getting into the holiday spirit.

Why did you chose to attend Holy Cross?
I chose Holy Cross because of the people I know who went here. Many members of my family are Holy Cross alumni and in high school, many of my teachers also attended Holy Cross. All of these people had distinct experiences during their time at the College, yet still all raved about the time they spent here which showed me that Holy Cross has something to offer for everyone.

Why did you choose to attend Holy Cross?
About 10 minutes into my tour of campus, my mom and I looked at each other and knew that this was the school for me. From the short time I had been on campus, I could already tell that Holy Cross fostered a community of kindness, and giving back, two things of the upmost importance to me. In addition, the size, location and programs available here were exactly what I wanted and more. You won't be alone at Holy Cross.

Why did you want to become a tour guide?
I remember how kind and knowledgeable my tour guide was, which really allowed me to fall in love with the school even more! I would love to do that for someone else and be one of the reasons they come to this wonderful school. If I can share the great experience I have had, I know it will help incoming college students feel like this institution is a safe, welcoming environment.

What is one highlight of your Holy Cross experience thus far?
Having started my Holy Cross career online and then coming to campus in the spring of 2021, I definitely have had a unique experience. Honestly, my most memorable experience so far has been creating a wonderful group of friends who I know I can count on always. There are people here for everyone and it really shows how wonderful the community is here. Also, walks to Kimball in the bitter cold are always fun when you have your friends by your side!

What is one highlight of your Holy Cross experience thus far?
After deferring from the class of 2024, being able to have in person orientation this past fall and to finally be on campus with the Holy Cross community.

Why did you chose to attend Holy Cross?
The awesome History department, beautiful campus, liberal arts education, and Jesuit identity rooted in service and activism.

Why did you become a tour guide?
I wanted to be a tour guide because choosing a college to attend can be a scary and stressful decision for anyone, and being able to listen to a students first hand experience with any institution is such a valuable piece of information to help aid ones decision. Talking with tour guides can help alleviate the stress and concerns by answering some questions a prospective student might have. I want to be able to give an insight into life at Holy Cross while also informing others about the values and traditions that make Holy Cross so special.

What is one highlight of your Holy Cross experience thus far? One of my highlights thus far of my Holy Cross experience was going to the Joyce Contemplative Center with my swim team. Being able to enter a space where I can take a minute to breathe and reflect on myself is an experience that is so special to Holy Cross. The center is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been to. Being able to connect and reflect with the guidance of the staff was extremely helpful in the progression of myself as a student and as a person. The center holds many retreats and programs that I definitely will be partaking in during the remainder of my time at Holy Cross. Why did you chose to attend Holy Cross?

Holy Cross was the first institution where I could see myself finding a home away from home. Being a smaller liberal arts college, it allows for students to a become well individuals set up for life after graduation. The Jesuit education allows for growth and reflection, allowing for one to see the impact of their education over the years. The opportunities both in and out of the classroom was something that sold me on the college.

Why did you choose to attend Holy Cross?
I choose Holy Cross because of its strong science department, the variety music performance options, and the small size. I love going to a small school. From an academic side, all of my Professors know me by name and go out of their way to help me succeed. From a social side, I really feel like a part of the community, and am happy to call campus home.

Why did you want to become a tour guide?
I found touring schools to be super helpful when I was trying to decide what college to attend, so I want to do my part to help future Crusaders make their decision!

What is one highlight of your Holy Cross experience thus far?
During March of my freshman year, we were lucky enough to have composer Tania Leon come to campus. She gave a guest lecture in my music theory class, and also worked with both the band and the choir before we performed a selection of her work later that evening. It was such a great experience to hear her story and learn from her, and made playing her piece much more special to me.

Why did you become a tour guide?
I became a tour guide because they were super influential in helping me decide where I wanted to go to college. I want to be apart of the experience that encourages future crusaders to come to Holy Cross!!

What is one highlight of your Holy Cross experience thus far?
One highlight of my Holy Cross experience thus far was tredging through a foot of snow that caused a snow day to find Kimball serving chicken parm for lunch. It was one of the happiest moments of my life.

Why did you chose to attend Holy Cross? I chose to attend Holy Cross because there is no community like it. Everyone is so friendly and they want to talk to you about how special this place really is. Students and professors want to see you succeed and will take the extra step

to ensure that you do. And of course the campus is beautiful in absolutely every season so that’s a bonus.

Why did you become a tour guide?
I am passionate about Holy Cross and being a tour guide allows me to share this directly with prospective students and their families! Tour guides are some of the first people a student may meet on their college journey and I definitely want to be a person that makes students want to come back to Holy Cross. Holy Cross is so special to me and I love sharing this with others!

What is one highlight of your Holy Cross experience thus far?
One highlight of my Holy Cross experience so far is being able to go to all the little shops located close off campus! Eating at Birchtree or shopping for plants at Seed to Stem with friends always lights up my day and is something I look forward to. Not only is it a relaxing way to spend time with friends, but it is so close to campus!

Why did you chose to attend Holy Cross? I chose to attend Holy Cross because of the strong community values the school holds. This tight-knit community makes me feel safe and at home; the moment I went on campus for the first time, I knew that this was where I am meant to be. I wanted to be at a place where I could not only be challenged

academically, but be surrounded by a family that would push me and expose me to new opportunities. It became clear to me that Holy Cross would be the perfect fit!

Why did you become a tour guide?
I became a tour guide because it was the tour I took in 2018 that led me to choose Holy Cross, and I hope to provide the that same opportunity to future students.

What is one highlight of your Holy Cross experience thus far?
One of my favorite Holy Cross experiences thus far was Spring Break Immersion in 2020, where I was in a group that went to a town in Appalachia for a week, Ivanhoe, VA. I was not only able to bond with Holy Cross students who, the week prior, were complete strangers, but also lent a helping hand to a community in need. I was able to meet people from different walks of life and listen to their stories and the history of their small town, an experience that appreciate the value of conversation and that compromise is possible even amongst difference in opinion and thought.

Why did you chose to attend Holy Cross?
I chose Holy Cross for it's liberal arts academics and Jesuit values. Starting as a freshman, I was unsure of what I wanted to study, and Holy Cross allowed me to take classes that I likely would not have chosen on my own which I ended up loving. Jesuit values are also at the core of the Holy Cross experience, and as someone who has made volunteering a priority for most of my life, the phrase "men and women for and with others" was something I hoped to emulate in my four years of college.

Why did you choose to attend Holy Cross?
I chose to attend Holy Cross because of the amazing community that we have on campus. The second I got here for my tour back in my junior year, I immediately felt like I belonged and found the place I wanted to call home. The professors here genuinely want to know about you and your passions, interests, and life, rather than just seeing you as just a name or number. The students here look out for one another, and we support each other in all of our endeavors. I couldn’t have picked a better school values my personal talents and allows me to share them with the world and our Holy Cross community.

Why did you want to become a tour guide?
I want to become a Tour Guide because I want to have an impact on prospective families and students visits to campus. I remember how influential the tour guides were in my decision to attend HC and I want to have the ability to make other students as passionate about Holy Cross as I am. Also, I am a very social and outgoing person, so being a tour guide would give me the opportunity to chat with families and share everything I love about this amazing community!!

What is one highlight of your Holy Cross experience thus far? One of my favorite HC memories has to be the first tailgate I went to in the fall of 2019. It was the end of the crazy first week of being a first year student, and I had always heard about how fun the tailgates were from my friends who were upperclassmen. I remember walking down and overlooking Freshman Field to see rows upon rows of cars lined up along the grass, and I was so excited. The entire morning was a blast, seeing so many HC alumni coming out and supporting their alma mater with their families. It really showed me how amazing the community was at HC and how supportive we all are of each other!

Why did you choose to attend Holy Cross?
In July of my senior year of high school, I attended the Summer Research Tour which highlighted student's research projects. The experience of seeing the opportunities students were given at Holy Cross not only engaged me but motivated me to apply Early Decision. Afterwards, my experience with the History department when visiting campus was incredibly positive. Admissions saw my interest in the subject even before applying and set me up with a student who could share their experience and help me envision myself on campus. This personalized touch made Holy Cross stand out to me as other colleges I visited seemed more focused around statistics.

Why did you want to become a tour guide?
My experience at Holy Cross has already been filled with some of the best moments of my life. I remember how stressful the college process can be, and I joined Admissions as a Greeter to provide a relatable experience to prospective students and urge them to seriously consider Holy Cross. This combined with my adoration for our campus at all times of the year are why I jumped at the opportunity to become a Tour Guide.

What is one highlight of your Holy Cross experience thus far?
Montserrat was an incredibly positive experience for me. My cluster events helped me meet members of my class right away who were interested in similar things, and those connections were also tied to my residence hall. Going random worried me, but the Program enables first year students to meet students right away and begin to feel acclimated to a very new environment. Also, my Montserrat seminar provided me with one course which I always felt excited to attend, with students that were all going through similar experiences as I was.

Why did you want to become a tour guide?
I wanted to be a tour guide because I want to make an impact on the people who look at Holy Cross. Also, I love showing my experiences on The Hill to perspective students.

What is one highlight of your Holy Cross experience thus far? One of my favorite parts about HC so far was my first year Montserrat class. In this class, we explored all around Worcester. This was really cool for me because I am from out of town, so seeing and learning about my new home was interesting.

Why did you become a tour guide?
One of my favorite experiences in high school was being a tour guide at our annual open house. I really enjoyed being able to set an example for the prospective families about the type of environment that our school fostered. I also liked developing a personal connection with many of the families and being able to answer their questions during a very stressful period of their lives.

What is one highlight of your Holy Cross experience thus far?
The professors at Holy Cross really are something special. In my experience, they are all incredibly intelligent, understanding, and down-to-earth. Their pleasant nature helps relieve a lot of the pressure of academics, while still expecting a lot from their students.

Why did you chose to attend Holy Cross?
Holy Cross is a unique institution because of how present the mission is. I find that Holy Cross' Jesuit initiative of being people for others can be seen all across campus. Many students want to support each other and their communities.

Why did you choose to attend Holy Cross?
Since I was making my college decision during COVID-19 lockdown, I was unable to attend any in-person accepted students days or make campus visits. Speaking with current students was the largest factor in my decision. Holy Cross students were by far the most welcoming, passionate, and enthusiastic. Through conversations with current students and members of my local alumni chapter, as well as the academic rigor and reputation of the school, it was clear that Holy Cross was the right fit for me.

Why did you want to become a tour guide?
I wanted to be a tour guide because I remember how important first impressions were as a prospective student! I want other students to feel the enthusiasm, passion, and spirit of the Holy Cross community from the very first time they set foot on campus.

What is one highlight of your Holy Cross experience thus far?
One of my favorite Holy Cross experiences was competing in my first Mock Trial tournament. Even though the competition was virtual, I felt such a strong connection with my teammates and coach and it made me so excited to be back competing in person!

Why did you become a tour guide?
I became a tour guide because I would love to show prospective students what it truly means to be a Holy Cross student. I would enjoy giving a well-rounded perspective of the college to potential students and families. One of the most standout traits of Holy Cross is the strong tight-knit community that occurs here. I would love to give insight into this through the tours that I would give.

What is one highlight of your Holy Cross experience thus far?
Outside of the classroom, one of the biggest highlights of my experience at Holy Cross has been being able to meet a wide variety of new people. Since I am involved in the Student Government Association I have had the opportunity to talk to many different students and get a large range of different views. It has given me the opportunity to become immersed in the community.

Why did you chose to attend Holy Cross?
I chose to attend Holy Cross mainly because of the liberal arts take on education and the small class sizes. However, having attended Holy Cross for over a year now I have fallen in love with the campus community. The unique community here has made Holy Cross my home and has pushed me to become not only a better student but a better person.

Why did you become a tour guide?

I became a tour guide because I am already so passionate about Holy Cross and I wanted to share my love of the College with incoming and prospective students. I already feel a part of the community and I want to ensure that prospective students are able to feel like they are a part of it as well. What is one highlight of your Holy Cross experience thus far?
One highlight of my Holy Cross experience so far has been cooking with my closest friend in the kitchen in the basement of Brooks!

Why did you chose to attend Holy Cross?
I chose to attend Holy Cross for a few reasons. First, Holy Cross has the largest and one of the best Classics departments in the country and I knew that would be my major. Second, Holy Cross was very generous with their financial aid and scholarships for me, so it was the most affordable of my options! Lastly, Holy Cross has an atmosphere with which I fell in love. It is the most beautiful campus I have ever seen, both in regards to buildings and the surrounding scenery. The view from the top of the Hill is breathtaking, just like  the rest of the campus.

Why did you become a tour guide?
I became a tour guide because I want to share my love for Holy Cross with prospective students. I know tours are often students' only exposure to a college before applying, so being able to show them around and share my experiences at the college and what ultimately led me to choose Holy Cross is a really special opportunity.

What is one highlight of your Holy Cross experience thus far?
One of my favorite experiences on campus was Spring Weekend 2022. Even though I was a third-year, it was my first spring weekend on campus due to Covid, so it was really exciting to see all of campus come together and enjoy all the events that were put on for us. It was especially fun for me because I had been away from campus the whole year, so I had the chance to catch up with so many friends I hadn't seen for months!

Why did you chose to attend Holy Cross?
I chose Holy Cross because every time I visited campus it felt so welcoming. All the students I met were so passionate about the college and so eager to tell me all about their experiences. Also, all the alumni I met were, even years after graduating, so grateful for their time at Holy Cross which made me realize what a special place it was, and what a great place it would be to spend four years.  Additionally, Holy Cross has so many amazing programs both on and off campus that stood out to me, specifically study abroad and the DC semester, both of which I knew I wanted to do as soon as I learned about them.

Why did you choose to attend Holy Cross?
With the overall cost of education, I never thought that I would be able to attend Holy Cross. I was prepared to settle for my second choice which was quite far from home. I had already fallen in love with Holy Cross’ gorgeous campus, its location in a major city, and the fact that everyone in the community is here to support you, welcome you, and watch you succeed. When I heard back from Holy Cross, amidst the start of the pandemic, and received a much larger scholarship than I had ever dreamed of, I could not move half-way across the country to settle for my second choice. I chose Holy Cross and in the end, Holy Cross also chose me.

Why did you want to become a tour guide?
I am really good at walking backwards! But seriously, I would take any opportunity to boast about Holy Cross and talk about how much I love it. I am proud to be a Crusader and am so excited to share that with prospective students and families.

Why did you become a tour guide? I remember how influential tour guides were during my college search experience. I was very undecided and overwhelmed after all of the infosessions and hours of research. The schools began to mix together in my head and nothing stood out. What did stand out, however, was the feeling I got

walking around Holy Cross’ campus with my welcoming tour guide leading the way. I knew then that I wanted to be a part of creating that feeling for prospective students so that they can feel confident in whatever decision they make.

What is one highlight of your Holy Cross experience thus far?
One of my favorite memories so far was the sophomore carnival during the first week back at school in the fall. After a tough year of mostly virtual learning, it was so nice to meet a lot of my classmates that I hadn’t gotten the chance to yet. Hanging out, playing games, and eating barbeque was the perfect way to start our second year together!

Why did you chose to attend Holy Cross? Initially, I was drawn to Holy Cross because of its impressive academic opportunities and Jesuit, liberal arts values. After I toured the beautiful campus and met a couple of students, I was sold. Despite never having been there before, the brick buildings and smiling people felt oddly familiar and

comfortable. I could easily picture myself studying in Dinand or eating in Kimball with friends. The welcoming atmosphere and strong sense of community made it clear that Holy Cross was the school for me.

Why did you become a tour guide?
When I first visited Holy Cross’ campus, I was struck by the physical beauty and grandeur of it all. However, it was not until I moved in and until I experienced the power of the Holy Cross community that I truly felt at home. While I would love to brag about the splendor of our campus to every visitor, I would enjoy highlighting the intersection between the campus and the community more. I love sharing my recent memories of inclusivity and empowerment. I love showing the good work being done across campus and beyond the bounds of Mount Saint James. I love presenting the marvelousness of Holy Cross in its physical and emotional form. Most importantly, I love telling people about my home.

What is one highlight of your Holy Cross experience thus far?
One highlight of my Holy Cross experience thus far was sledding with my friends during the winter. Whether it was in a cardboard box or on an actual sled, we always had a lot of fun.

Why did you chose to attend Holy Cross?
I chose to attend Holy Cross because I appreciated its commitment to serving others. Throughout my whole life, I have known that I wanted to be have a career related to social justice and service. Holy Cross' Jesuit mission gives me the opportunity to fully explore that dream. Additionally, I was very attracted to Holy Cross' small and tight-knit community. Adjusting to college and learning new skills is much easier when surrounded by very supportive classmates and friends.

All of these elements contribute to such a welcoming environment that helps prospective students to understand the interconnected bonds that run deep within the Holy Cross community. I'm so grateful for all of the opportunities I have had at Holy Cross, and I am even more grateful to share these opportunities and experiences with prospective students who will hopefully engage in similar ones on the Hill. Upon our initial meeting, it was clear that everyone in the room was so welcoming with one another, but also so eager to welcome the newest group of students to the Hill. My experience with the Gateways Orientation Team serves as a small symbol that is indicative of the greater Holy Cross community. Seeing so many people feel so passionate about Holy Cross and about helping others has been really rewarding and exciting to be a part of.

Why did you chose to attend Holy Cross?
I chose to attend Holy Cross because I wanted to feel challenged to grow and evolve outside of myself, yet supported in this endeavor. The network of professors, faculty, and students alike have made me feel as though I can step outside of my comfort zone and strive towards my potential.

Why did you choose to attend Holy Cross?
The sense of community at Holy Cross is something that was unmatchable, being able to walk around campus and always see a friendly face is something that is so warm and welcoming. As well as the team atmosphere of the swim team, I immediately knew I belonged.

Why did you want to become a tour guide?
At every school, a tour guide brings a great impression to the school and everything it has to offer. I want to be that link between campus and families to a prospective student in being the most helpful and welcoming guide in order to show the beautiful campus and wonderful Holy Cross community!

What is one highlight of your Holy Cross experience thus far?
After COVID, it has been hard to be together with my team, but traveling to Colgate for our championship meet was the first time in a long time that I had been together with all my new  friends and team at once. This was such a fun experience despite the circumstances and I am definitely looking forward to more in the future!
